My father fell ill with cancer due to exposure of asbestos in the workforce and found information about this law firm. He started a claim through SWMW, but unfortunately the cancer took his life before he received any settlement. My sister and I reached out to the firm to let them know of his passing and we were able to get the settlement extended to next of kin. SWMW has worked timely and thoroughly to settle on behalf of my late father and we have been extremely grateful for them. My father would be ecstatic! SWMW did an amazing job! They started the process with my father but during the process my father passed. They were so helpful when it came to us, his children, taking over in place of my dad. I want to give my deepest condolences to anyone with a loved one going through this horrible disease. It is by far one of the most awful things I’ve ever seen anyone go through. When my dad wanted to do this, I was very much against it. Who wants to spend what little time you have left with a bunch of lawyers. But when Ben and his unbelievably compassionate team showed up and started this process, it was like nothing I could prepare for. They are so thorough about every detail, and have memory tactics, that somehow brought back memories from 40+ years ago. They took care of business and yet still somehow brought so much laughter in between the tears, of things that my dad did years ago that he had completely forgotten about and we never even knew about. My dad looked forward so much to Ben showing up just to talk and reminisce about things that had brought him so much joy earlier and yet still building a rock solid case. When my dad couldn’t go any further, and was getting weak, this whole team didn’t push him to continue, (which I would not have allowed anyway), but yet showed some of the most genuine compassion I’ve ever seen. Even after my dad was gone, I still would receive phone calls or texts from Ben daily wanting to know if there was anything they could do (not relating to his case, but personally). I cannot say enough about this whole team. Even after my dad passed away, they still showed the utmost integrity and professionalism in taking care of his final wishes. For anyone going through this horrible situation, I can’t recommend enough to let these guys (who I would consider family) to take care of your loved one. You will not be sorry. Great law firm. They really care about their clients. If you are not in the state their office is in, they will come to you and not charge you. SMMW Law are very consistent with keeping you informed of the outcome. Staff is very client friendly and have a lot of respect for their clients. Mom passed away from cancer 2018… Although no dollar amount is valued to my mom’s life, this firm was phenomenal in retrieving more than enough to cover bills left after she passed. They come down to South Carolina to meet in person. The reps were friendly and professional this entire experience. They heard our suggestions and worked hard in the background. Our family is definitely grateful we chose this company!!! Highly recommend you go with them!!!
SWMW LAW did a great job on my dad’s asbestos case. Steve helped me get through the deposition process with all the different companies my dad worked at as a contractor. My siblings and myself received substantial compensation from the places my dad and I worked at and products we used that contained asbestos.
If you or a loved one is faced with a mesothelioma diagnosis, you have my deepest sympathy. My husband was one of the unfortunate ones who was. He succumbed to this ugly disease and life for me has not been the same. However, prior to his passing we were fortunate that a caring nurse led us to SWMW. And there are not enough words to express my appreciation for ALL the staff of SWMW. From the very first phone call to date, Lauren and staff have been OUTSTANDING! They have been compassionate, understanding, professional, but most of all dedicated. On February 5th, 2016, I was diagnosed with Malignant Pericardial Mesothelioma. Upon reading about this disease, I learned very quickly that my prognosis was bleak at best. I originally was contacted by a different law firm than SWMW, however they gave my case over to SWMW shortly after my initial interview with them. That turned out to be the BEST thing that happened to me. I could tell within the first couple of contacts with SWMW Law that they had my interest in the forefront. I never got the “run around ” from them even when I was so unsure about how things were going on my particular case. My case was especially difficult to deal with as I didn’t have any CLEAR cause of how I contracted this disease. They didn’t care about the cause at that point, only that I had the disease and they were going to go forward and protect my rights. I have to say that my attorney was and is still amazing. He is no way the “typical” lawyer type that I’ve come to expect from my past experience with lawyers. He actually cares!!! He kept me informed every step of the way during the trial phase of my case and to this day he contacts me twice a year just to see how I’m doing …. How I’m feeling …. not many attorneys working for big firms in major cities take the time to call a 64-year-old client who lives in one of the most remote areas of the USA. I am very pleased with the professionalism and caring that SWMW Law has shown me over these past 5 years. And still I get updates and calls about my wellbeing from SWMW Law, even after my case has pretty much been all but settled. I did receive great compensation because of all the hard work the firm did on my behalf. SWMW Law is the ONLY firm I would trust with this devastating disease.
