Attorney Daniel Sparks is an associate at SWMW Law. He joined the firm in 2025, focusing his practice on helping individuals and families affected by mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases.
Daniel brings to SWMW Law a diverse legal background shaped by hands-on experience advocating for working people. Before joining the firm, he served as an associate attorney at a labor law firm in St. Louis, where he represented building trades unions and Taft-Hartley Funds. That work strengthened his understanding of the challenges facing workers and deepened his resolve to ensure they receive fair treatment, safe workplaces, and the protections they deserve.
“My entire career has centered around standing up for people whose voices are often unheard,” Daniel said. “Whether I was representing unions, injured plaintiffs, or now families affected by asbestos exposure, my goal has always been to help people navigate moments of uncertainty with clarity, honesty, and compassion.”
Daniel earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Ohio State University and went on to obtain his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law, where he concentrated his studies in Labor and Employment Law. During law school, he was a faculty research fellow and teaching assistant in the Labor and Employment Law Department, experiences that nurtured the strong analytical foundation he brings to his practice. He also worked as a law clerk for a St. Louis personal injury firm, representing injured plaintiffs throughout the region – early, formative work that reinforced his dedication to client-centered advocacy.
In 2024, Daniel was published in the ABA Journal of Labor and Employment Law with his article “Encrypting Discrimination: LGBTQ+ Workers in the Gig Economy.” His research and writing reflect his long-standing interest in the evolving workplace, particularly how modern employment structures impact vulnerable workers.
At SWMW Law, Daniel is a member of the firm’s Asbestos Practice, working primarily in discovery. He approaches this meticulous, detail-driven work with the mindset that every document, every timeline, and every fact represents a real person facing one of the hardest experiences of their lives.
